Paris, 8th of January 2016

Late wake up (again) this morning, but quite better than yesterday... I don't know why, I just still can't adapt this high latitude weather... yes; maybe because no girl (I mean my wife) inside, and no kids to be kissed in the morning...haha

Wake up at 07.00 GMT+2, about one hour after my phone alarm rang in 06.00 haha... Adi! But, it was not too late I think to pray Shubuh, because it is started around at 7.00 AM during the winter season, yet I think I should change this bad attitude immediately! you're a Dad! you're a Doctorant!

The weather is not so cold. It shouldn't be like this in winter season. It's still quiet 'warm' (for the Parisien, not for tropical species like me haha!). It was 5-6 degrees Celsius. I did go to catch the RER C train at 08.25, it takes 5 minutes by walk from my flat to the RER station, Vitry-sur-Seine; and it takes around 20-30 minutes to reach UPMC campus in Jussieu. Yes, God gave His best for me and my family..., alhamdulillah...

I just arrived lately in 9.10 AM (it should be no more than 09.00 AM I think haha...); and I saw my second supervisor was already working inside our room. Shame on you Adi! aha...

Actually, I just planned to go to the souvenir shop and buy some of souvenirs this morning; because I have to go back to Jakarta next week (14 January 2016). So, I should go earlier to the Campus, and then I am gonna get outside the labo just one hour later, in 10.00 AM. Yes, I'm gonna shopping in Arts et Metiers ville. Reach the Metro 7 from Jussieu to Chatelet, and then takes Metro 11 heading to Mairie de Lilas, and get down in Art et Metiers station; then get outside via rue de Beaubourgh. The shop is located in the narrow street just on the right side of the gate in-out of Metro Beaubourgh station. Such narrow street is located around 10 meter in the right side of the train station gate.

I just came back in Campus at 11.25; a half hour before I start to go to Paris Grand Mosque to pray Jumat. Dr. Yannis looks so busy today. Maybe he had been teaching today.
12.05; I did go to Paris Grand Mosque to pray Jumat. I thought, it was too late, because I failed to get the front shaff. I just got around sixth shaff. But, still inside the mosque haha... much better than the last week :(

The topics of the Jumat speech (Khutbah Jumat) was so touching. If I'm not mistake (the speech was done in french and arabic!), the preacher spoke about the urgency of one ummah after the death of Rasulullah SAW. He cried touchingly when drawing out the situation since the Holy Spirit (Jibril) informs the prophet about the end of his time. And dramatically, the preacher brought successfully the audience (jama'ah) into the situation at that time. About how Fatimah informs Ali, her husband, about the death of her dad... I thought, most of jama'ah was crying at that time since I heard they were sobbing, wow...

I came back to Campus at 14.00; and start to continue my Matlab work. Yes, I should process the oceanography data sets using Matlab, a smarter way than the previous one haha... My research focus is understanding the mixing characteristics in the Indonesian seas based on observational data sets. With thousands of files of observations; too stupid I think if I just rely on my conventional capability. I need a better tools and capability to process them.

My first script project are plotting and calculating:
(1) CTDs data files
(2) Thorpe scale method to derive the dissipation energy and vertical eddy diffusivity

Ah, bonne week-end a tous!
